Menopause Symptoms Many Women Don't Know About

There are some menopause symptoms that everyone knows. There are others that most women don't associate with this stage of life, say Mary Claire Haver, a gynecologist, and Sarah Berry, a professor of nutritional sciences, quoted in Huffpost, a blog aggregator. What are they?

Menopause symptoms that many women don't know about:

Musculoskeletal problems. “Around 80%” of menopausal people have this type of problem and for “20% of them, it's the worst symptom, the symptom that most disturbs their lives”, explained Mary Claire Haver;

Symptoms similar to those of dementia. Unfortunately, symptoms such as brain fog can manifest themselves in some menopausal people;

Panic attacks.  In some cases, “the anxiety level rises, then you get very hot and start sweating,” she explains;

Urinary infections and vaginal dryness. In case you didn't know, there are estrogen receptors all over the body, especially in the bladder and vagina. “When we lose estrogen in these areas, we start to experience dryness, as well as loss of lubrication and recurring infections.”

Sleep disturbances. “Over 80%” of menopausal people report sleep disturbances as their main symptom,” says Sarah Berry.
