A French municipal police officer fatally shot a man who, moments earlier, attacked two people with a screwdriver. The 46-year-old suspect was shot in Aubervilliers, in the industrial region of Seine-Saint Denis, on the outskirts of Paris.
According to the police, the suspect, who has not yet been identified, attacked a maintenance worker at a local company with the tool and then targeted a policeman who tried to intervene in the situation.
He was shot by a municipal police officer after he refused to comply with the orders to surrender imposed by the police officers who responded to the incident.
A large police force is still at the scene, reports Le Parisien.
