Surprise in England: Maguire and Grealish ruled out of Euro'2024

After the dismissals of Curtis Jones and James Maddison were made official this Thursday, information has also emerged that Gareth Southgate has 'crossed out' the names of Jack Grealish and Harry Maguire, two of the England team's 'heavyweights', for Euro'2024.

The decision has not yet been formalized by the English FA, but Maguire has already confirmed it in a message on social media, in which he said he was “devastated”.

The Manchester United player explained that he had done everything he could to be present at Euro'2024, but the injury he had suffered prevented him from being at 100%.

"For me, representing England is the greatest honor. It means everything. If I can't help as a player, then I'll support as a fan, just like the rest of the country. Go out there and win, lads,” wrote Maguire.

For his part, Jack Grealish has yet to comment on his absence from Euro'2024, and the Three Lions have yet to make an official announcement.

It should be noted that Maguire has so far made 63 appearances for England, while Grealish has 36.

England are in Group C of Euro'2024 and will face Serbia (June 16), Denmark (June 20) and Slovenia (June 25).
