Lula Da Silva: "The World Is Not Obligated to Put Up with Elon Musk's Anything Goes"

Brazilian President Lula da Silva said in statements made to CNN that he was “satisfied” with the decision made by Alexandre de Moraes of the Supreme Federal Court regarding the blocking of the social network X.

Moraes ordered the blocking of X after Musk’s decision to close the company’s offices in Brazil, an initiative that goes against Brazilian law that requires companies in the country to have a legal representative. This decision by Musk was made after Moraes pressured the businessman to end misinformation on the platform.

“The Brazilian justice system may have given an important signal that the world is not obliged to put up with [Elon] Musk’s far-right free-for-all just because he is rich,” said Lula da Silva, noting that this decision by the Supreme Court could lead other countries to follow suit regarding Musk’s “political interference and activism.”
