Pélicot Case. Abusers' Lawyer Caused Controversy And Was Threatened

The lawyer for two of the defendants in the Pèlicot case is becoming a hit on social media, where she reports on some of the allegations made in court.

 

The aggressive way she questioned the victim, Gisèle Pelicot, and the way she comments on the case on social media is generating controversy.

The woman is Nadia El Bouroumi. Born in Toulouse, she dropped out of school to become a hairdresser and entered law school at the age of 22.

One of the main moments that put her in the spotlight was when she questioned Gisèle and accused her of playing the victim, but of being the one responsible for spreading the images of the abuse.

Gisèle, it should be remembered, was abused by 50 men, being drugged and unconscious at the time of the abuse. the crimes took place over a period of years, unbeknownst to her.

Nadia El Bouroumi is very active on social media and often shares relaxed videos of herself leaving court after the rape hearings. Her relaxed manner is generating a lot of criticism from those who accuse her of being frivolous in the face of a very serious case.

“I've decided to file a complaint for harassment. I'm in a situation where it's impossible for me to practice my profession as a lawyer in peace and quiet. This public and media pressure is an obstacle to defending my clients,” she wrote on social media, after being the target of criticism and threats.

In her defense, Nadia says that she is aware of the seriousness of the case, that she never treated it lightly and that she never wanted to be disrespectful to Gisèle, whom she calls a 'vulnerable victim'.

The fact is that since the trial began, her posts have gained her thousands of followers, reports El Mundo.
