Stealthing: New Sexual Trend Banned in Several Countries and Is a Sign of Psychopathy

Stealthing is the new (and dangerous) sexual fashion that is causing a lot of controversy and is already considered a crime in several countries.

There is a new sexual fashion that is causing great controversy and goes by the name of stealthing. This consists of non-consensually removing the condom during sexual intercourse. The controversy is ongoing and many psychologists have no problem assuming that we are talking about something associated with “psychopathy and narcissism”.

A study carried out by a team of researchers from the University of Sunshine Coast, Australia, interviewed 416 sexually active men over the age of 18. One of the conclusions was that “individuals who were aroused by scenarios like this, and who reported a similar behavioral history, had significantly higher results in Machiavellianism, narcissism and psychopathy”. That and comparison with men who have never done anything similar.

Stealthing has already resulted in conviction in the Netherlands

More than a dangerous fashion, stealthing is a crime in several countries, which does not happen in Portugal. As is the case in the Netherlands, where a 28-year-old man was the first to be convicted of non-consensually removing a condom during sexual intercourse. Something that happened in March 2023. Khaldoun F. was sentenced to a three-month suspended sentence. And the payment of a fine of 1,000 euros. Also in California, United States of America, it is recognized as a form of sexual assault.

There are also women who are reporting men who engage in this behavior in private. There are reports of users who caused men to be banned from online dating apps after being reported for having removed the condom in a non-consensual way during sexual intercourse.
