In 2018, the Government of the Czech Republic initiated a project to restore the water areas of the Brdy Nature Park. The aim was to restore moisture to the region, but the proposal took a while to take shape.
For years, authorities waited for the necessary authorizations to begin the works, which would cost the government more than a million euros.
However, according to 20 minutes, thanks to a family of beavers, the Government will not have to spend a single cent.
Environmental groups monitoring the area reported that it took just two days for some rodents to build functional dams in the right areas, saving us humans the trouble.
The animals built the dams in just 48 hours, achieving the desired effect of the Government's project. The work was completed in about 48 hours while the local administration had been struggling for more than seven years to obtain all the necessary documents to begin work.
Environmentalists say the dams were built in the right places and will help restore wetlands to their natural state, providing suitable habitat for crayfish, frogs and other wildlife.
