A group of masked thieves stole approximately $7,000 worth of Labubu dolls from a store in the Los Angeles area last week, authorities said.
The crime occurred in La Puente, a city located about 18 miles from Los Angeles, the LA County Sheriff's Department reported. The suspects used a stolen Toyota Tacoma pickup truck, which was recovered shortly afterward. Police said they are still investigating the case and have not released any further information.
The Labubu dolls are part of the collectible toy series "The Monsters" created by Hong Kong-born artist Kasing Lung and have become collector's items about ten years after their release.
In an Instagram post, One Stop Sales reported that the thieves took all of the inventory and vandalized the store. Security camera footage shows people wearing hoodies and masks rummaging through shelves and carrying out boxes.
“We are in shock,” the store said in the post, asking for help in locating the suspects.
