Conflict Escalates. Hezbollah Launches Around 30 Rockets Against Israel

Hezbollah fired around 30 rockets from Lebanon towards northern Israel on Sunday night, reports CNN International.

The series of rockets was launched after an Israeli air strike in southern Lebanon wounded 12 people, and intensifies the tension between the two regions following the assassination of one of Hamas' top leaders last month.

The Iranian-backed terrorist organization said it launched the attack in support of the Palestinian people in the war-torn Gaza Strip and in retaliation for the Israeli attack in southern Lebanon, according to CNN.

The Israeli attack on the town of Ma'aroub in southern Lebanon caused 12 injuries, including six children, according to the Lebanese National News Agency.

Some of the rockets fired this Sunday fell in open areas and no injuries were reported.
