Nicole Kidman Was 'Mocked' For Being Tall And Hated Her Body As A Teenager

The actress wanted to be shorter and curvier after growing up hearing negative comments about her body.

Nicole Kidman is known for dazzling on the red carpet, showing elegance and confidence, but it wasn't always that way.

The actress spoke in the first part of the documentary series 'In Vogue: The 90s', which premiered on Hulu on September 13.

The production shows the world of fashion during the 1990s, through Vogue and its editor, Anna Wintour.

It is in the third episode of the series that we can see designer John Galliano talking about the actress, for whom he designed the 'look' that she wore to the 1997 Oscars ceremony.

"My whole life I wanted to be shorter and curvier, and suddenly I'm tall and very thin and flat-chested and they say to me, 'Great, we can dress you,'" Kidman reflects in that episode.

"I mean, I was a redhead, fair-skinned and very tall at 14. I was teased and that wasn't very nice. So whenever I had access to that whole world [of fashion], I felt like a kid who had been given the opportunity to enter this kind of magical world," she recalled about that Oscar night.

It should be noted that the Hollywood actress is 1.80 meters tall.
