It's one of the streaming service's most acclaimed series in recent years.
If you're looking forward to the return of 'The Last of Us' on Max (formerly known as HBO Max), then you'll be pleased to know that the second season could be released more quickly than we expected.
President and CEO of Content for HBO and Max, Casey Bloys, said in an interview with Deadline that the second season of 'The Last of Us' will be released in 2025. Asked about the premiere date for the second season of the series, Bloys said that the release will take place “in the first half of 2025” in order to be released “in the Emmy window” to be considered for next year's ceremony.
Bloys also noted that fans should expect the quality of the first half to be maintained. “I've seen 'The Last of Us'. I think everyone will love what [co-creator] Craig [Mazin] is doing,” said Bloys.
It's worth remembering that 'The Last of Us' is an adaptation of the video game series of the same name and developed by Naughty Dog, a studio owned by Sony Interactive Entertainment.
