Bieber se transformou em um fenômeno global aos 15 anos de idade, com seu hit “Baby”. Mas agora tem 30 anos, é casado e pai de um filho recém-nascido. Entretanto, as aparições públicas mais recentes do cantor deixaram fãs e amigos de longa data preocupados.

Page Six sources say the haunted-looking star — who has been open about substance abuse, anxiety and depression, admitting he once took Xanax to deal with the “shame” of his promiscuity — is battling ghosts from his past.
Indeed, Bieber has been drawn into Sean “Diddy” Combs’s arrest, as disturbing videos of the two together have resurfaced on social media.
“Do I believe he was involved in some stupid s–t? Yes,” an industry insider who worked with Bieber’s team for years told Page Six. “He was a teenager. He was the biggest pop star in the world. Everyone was worried about him, and we didn’t know if he was going to make it. People took advantage of everything he did.”
But a music source says it’s a two-way street: “Justin did some really crazy s–t and alienated the people around him. He doesn’t trust them.”
Now, Bieber's longtime friendship with Sean "Diddy" Combs — who appeared in a Manhattan court this week for a hearing related to his arrest on racketeering, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution charges — is under scrutiny, with speculation about the videos that emerged after the controversy surrounding his arrest becoming the talk of the town.

In one clip, Combs, alongside 15-year-old Bieber, tells the camera: “He’s having 48 hours with Diddy, where we’re hanging out and what we’re doing we can’t really reveal. But it’s definitely a 15-year-old’s dream… for the next 48 hours he’s with me and we’re going to go completely crazy.”
When the two appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” in 2016, Combs bragged to 16-year-old Bieber: “He knows better than to talk about the things he does with his big brother Puff on national television” — adding, “Not everything is for everyone.”

In another clip, Combs is seen patting Bieber down — as if checking for wires — before they board a private flight.
And in one video, Combs is seen telling the young man, “You’re not calling me and hanging out with me like we used to” — which a Hollywood legal source described to Page Six as “Diddy is basically bullying Justin.”
According to the industry source, “Family members are concerned about Justin. It’s unclear if Diddy would have taken advantage of Justin at the time, since his family was around, and his manager Scooter Braun really cared about him.”

“But that said, Justin went through a very bad period, a very rebellious phase.”
At 19, his tour bus was raided by Swedish authorities who found unspecified illegal drugs and a stun gun. Months later, Bieber was caught by paparazzi allegedly sneaking out of a Rio de Janeiro brothel after spending three hours inside.
In January 2014, when he was 20, police raided Bieber’s mansion after he was accused of throwing eggs at his neighbor’s house in Calabasas, California. He pleaded no contest to vandalism and was ordered to pay $80,000 in damages.
Two weeks later, he was arrested for DUI, resisting arrest and driving without a valid license for driving a yellow Lamborghini through the streets of Miami Beach.
Later tests showed Xanax and marijuana in his system; although his blood alcohol level was below the legal limit, he was still under the legal drinking age. He eventually pleaded guilty to reduced charges of careless driving and resisting arrest, and was ordered to undergo anger management and DUI education courses.
Seven years later, Bieber posted a photo of himself leaving jail in 2014, writing, “I’m not proud of where I was in my life. I was hurt, unhappy, confused, angry, cheated, misunderstood and mad at God. I also wore way too much leather for someone in Miami.”
In 2017, he was banned from touring China for “bad behavior.” That same year, his concert tour was cut short when the singer suffered a breakdown.
Braun admitted in 2018 that there was a point when Bieber’s partying got so out of control that it was unclear if he would survive.

“I thought he would go to bed one night and have so much crap in his system that he wouldn’t wake up the next morning,” Braun told “The Red Pill” podcast in 2018. “There was a time when I would go to bed almost every night when he had the money to fly away from me, and I would worry every night that I was going to lose him.”
That year, Bieber married Hailey Baldwin after a long on-again, off-again romance with Selena Gomez. Shortly after, the singer revealed that he had been battling depression.
He spoke openly about his mental health and struggles with substance abuse in the 2020 YouTube documentary “Justin Bieber: Seasons.”
“There was a time when I was taking Lean [codeine cough syrup and soda], I was taking pills, I was doing Molly, you know, mushrooms, everything,” Bieber revealed. “It was just an escape for me.”

And the singer cried on camera in 2020 when he told Apple Music host Zane Lowe about wanting to protect singer Billie Eilish , who was then 18.
“It was hard for me to be so young and be in the industry and not know where to turn, and everyone telling me they loved me, and then turning their back on you in a second,” Bieber explained. “I just want to protect her. I don’t want her to go through anything I went through. I wouldn’t wish that on anyone.”

At his lowest point, Bieber turned to Hillsong Church and became very close to pastor Carl Lentz, even staying with him and his family in New Jersey for extended periods of time.
But the singer has made it clear that he is no longer a member of Hillsong, and in April 2021, he criticized pastors who let fame go to their heads.
“I think a lot of pastors put themselves on this pedestal,” Bieber told GQ, without directly referencing Hillsong or Lentz, who was fired in 2020 for “leadership issues and breaches of trust, as well as a recent revelation of moral failings,” including extramarital affairs, allegations of abuse and an addiction to Adderall.
“[It’s] basically, the church can be surrounded by the man, the pastor, the guy, and it’s like, ‘This guy has this ultimate relationship with God that we all want but can’t have because we’re not that guy,’” Bieber told GQ. “That’s not the reality, though. The reality is that every human being has the same access to God.”
Bieber still attends church and was spotted attending a service at Churchome in Beverly Hills days after his wife, Hailey, gave birth to their son, Jack Blues, in August.
Last week, the Biebers celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary at Baltaire Restaurant in Los Angeles — Bieber looked slim, wearing sunglasses and a trucker cap.
The singer’s family is said to be enamored with baby Jack, the industry source said, adding: “People have been trying to take advantage of Justin for a long time. We just don’t want anything to take away from Jack and his life right now.”
Bieber sold the publishing rights and artist royalties to his music catalog to music investment firm Hipgnosis in a deal valued at just over $200 million in January 2023.
“Most superstars sell their entire catalog when they’re in their 60s or 70s, so it begs the question why Justin chose to do this now. I’m told he was burning through his money like water,” a high-ranking music source familiar with Bieber and his family told Page Six.
The singer’s net worth is currently estimated at around $285 million — driven largely by the publishing deal.
