22-Year-Old Dies After Rhinoplasty. He chose a clinic in TikTok

A 22-year-old Italian woman died this month after spending three days in a coma after undergoing rhinoplasty at a clinic in Rome.

Agata Margaret Spada traveled on November 4th from Letini, in Syracuse, to the Italian capital, to have nose surgery. The young woman had learned about the clinic through Google and Tik Tok - where it offered more affordable prices and a "nose makeover in just 20 minutes" - and was confident in the success of the rhinoplasty.

However, during the process, after administering anesthesia, the surgeon and other doctor realized that something was wrong, as the injection that had just been administered caused him tremors, nausea and dizziness. According to Corriere della Sera, Spada fell into a coma.

The young woman was hospitalized as an emergency, but her condition worsened irreversibly, dying on the 7th. The most likely hypothesis is that she suffered an anaphylactic shock.

The doctors responsible for the operation are being investigated by the Carabinieri and have been charged with manslaughter.

The young woman's body will undergo an autopsy on Friday. Authorities are also trying to understand what the substance administered before surgery contained, as agents did not find the consent form that Margaret should have signed.

Surgery paid in cash

Agata Margaret Spada allegedly paid up to 2,800 euros, presumably in cash, as no accounting traces were found in the clinic's offices.

The young woman's boyfriend could be a key player in the investigation, as he accompanied her at all times and even tried to enter the room when he realized that the operation was not going as expected. He also recorded everything that happened on November 4th and will be able to provide more details to the authorities.

According to the Italian press, authorities suspect that the clinic did not have all the necessary tools to deal with this type of emergency and, therefore, the investigations are also focusing on the regime under which the clinic operated.

Alessandro Vinci, lawyer for Margaret Spada's family, guarantees that "the establishment should have offered guarantees", but states that "the investigation will determine this".

"The family, parents and sister are, at this moment, surrounded by the affection of many people, but they are trapped in a pain that cannot be explained in words", stressed the lawyer.
