Erik Ten Hag was sacked a few days ago as manager of Manchester United - with Ruben Amorim succeeding him - but he may not be at the unemployment office for long. Some people are already pointing to a move to Italy.
The Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper reports on Tuesday that Dan and Ryan Friedkin, the owners of AS Roma, were in London on Monday to develop contacts for a new coach for the club to succeed Ivan Juric, who was sacked at the weekend after the defeat against Bologna (2-3).
Erik Ten Hag and Graham Potter, both without a club, were two names suggested to the American businessmen. In the case of Ten Hag, the Dutch-born coach not only questioned the move because of the chaos at the Italian club, but also because of the high costs involved.
Rudi Garcia and Edin Terzic have also been considered for the job, as has Italian Roberto Mancini. But it seems that the Friedkin family want a coach who isn't from Italy.
