Floods in South Sudan have affected 1.4 million people and forced the displacement of more than 379,000, the United Nations Office for Humanitarian Affairs (Ocha) announced.
In a statement released on Friday later in the day, the UN agency also warned of an increase in malaria in several regions affected by the rains.
This resurgence of malaria, as malaria is also known, overloads the health system and "exacerbates the situation and the impact in areas affected by the floods", explained OCHA.
The last balance, made a month ago, counted around 893,000 people affected by the floods and more than 241,000 people displaced by the bad weather.
According to humanitarian organizations, South Sudan is facing the worst floods in recent decades, particularly in the north.
The floods affect 43 counties and the Abyei administrative region, an area claimed by Sudan and South Sudan.
