Is There Really A 'Curse' On The Presley Family? Elvis' Granddaughter Explains

This belief refers to the series of tragedies that have affected the Presley family over the years, including the death of the singer's twin brother, who was given birth still alive, and the death of Benjamin Presley, who committed suicide in 2020.

The Presleys have been affected by several tragic moments over the years, particularly with regard to deaths in the family which, coincidentally, were always early.

Elvis Presley, the king of rock, passed away mysteriously in 1977. Lisa Marie Presley, his only daughter, died at the age of 54 from a heart attack. Benjamin Keough, Lisa's son, committed suicide at age 27. And be amazed: Elvis could have had a twin brother, but this one was stillborn.

Is there really a 'curse' on the Presley family? Riley Keough, Elvis' granddaughter, clarified everything.

"There is no curse in the Presley family. Just a series of tragic but common events," Keough confirmed.

During the tour that served to promote her memoir - 'Here to the Great Unknown', the 35-year-old actress addressed this so-called 'curse', the title given to the misfortune that has tormented the famous family.

"I get asked a lot, 'How did I avoid the Presley curse? And it's such a strange question," Elvis' granddaughter told author Taylor Jenkins Reid at an event that took place on November 18.

"I think the word 'curse' is used because my family is seen as something mythological or something, but it's actually very common things like addiction. Everyone here has either loved someone with addiction issues or lost someone tragically." , he continued. "My hope is that future generations of our family won't struggle so much with addiction. Of course, that's my dream."

Following her mother's death in January 2023 and a highly publicized legal argument with her grandmother, Priscilla Presley, Keough became the sole heir to her grandfather's iconic home, the Graceland mansion.
