More than 1,500 Toxic Panda attacks have already been recorded. In the end, it could help those responsible to carry out fraudulent monetary transactions.
Cybersecurity company Cleafly Intelligence has warned of the existence of malicious software capable of infecting Android phones and disguising itself as popular apps such as Google Chrome.
This malware goes by the name of Toxic Panda and, according to Cleafly, aims to obtain permissions, manipulate user interactions and also collect data from other apps. To the limit, Toxic Panda is capable of collecting passwords and even carrying out fraudulent monetary transactions.
The cybersecurity company responsible for the alert says that more than 1,500 Android devices have already been infected in Italy (56.8%), with Portugal following with 18.7% of all attacks. Spain, France and Peru are also among the countries where attacks have been recorded.
To avoid falling victim to Toxic Panda, you should above all not click on links sent by unknown email addresses or numbers or download applications from unknown online stores.
