WhatsApp Will Allow You to Add Music to Status Updates

WhatsApp is preparing a button to add music to status updates, and it is now in beta testing for both iOS and Android devices.

Status updates are posts, whether images or videos, that last 24 hours and in which you can add stickers and text, as well as use the pencil tool to draw.

WABetaInfo noticed that the beta version of WhatsApp for Android 2.25.2.5 incorporated a function to accompany this content with music, adding the symbol of a musical note at the top of the interface.

It has now been confirmed that this functionality, integrated into Instagram and Facebook for some time, will also be part of the version of the application for devices with the Android operating system.

The implementation of this button is the result of an agreement between Meta, owner of WhatsApp, and Universal Music Group (UMG) to bring music from the producer to its platforms, as announced in August 2024.
