In a statement, the Russian Defense Ministry said that Kyiv's public commitments to stop the attacks were just a ploy by the Ukrainian president.
The ministry added that a Ukrainian attack with US-made Himars missiles today caused a “powerful fire” and significant destruction at the Sudja gas metering station in Russia's Kursk region, where the fighting is taking place.
In recent days, Russia and Ukraine have accused each other of violating the truce on attacks on energy infrastructure.
The United States announced on Tuesday that Ukraine and Russia had agreed to implement a truce on attacks against energy installations.
The agreement had previously been discussed in separate telephone contacts between US President Donald Trump and his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky, and Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, who said he had immediately ordered a halt to these attacks.
Tuesday's announcement followed separate talks that US representatives held in Riyadh with Ukrainians and Russians.
