A US media outlet reported today that US President Donald Trump has ordered an investigation into two people who criticized him and who were part of his administration during his first term.
According to Politico, the two former members are Miles Taylor, a former senior official at the Department of Homeland Security, and Christopher Krebs, who ran Trump's Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency.
The same outlet claims that Trump has signed two executive orders targeting these former members, opening federal inquiries into their tenure and stripping them of security privileges.
This retaliation, if confirmed, is one of the latest actions by the Trump administration aimed at punishing political opponents, universities, judges and lawyers.
Miles Taylor published a then-anonymous opinion piece in 2018 criticizing Trump and reporting on what was happening in the White House, then wrote a book describing his first term and supporting former President Joe Biden's 2020 candidacy.
