In Wednesday's season opener at Kaseya Center, the Timberwolves beat the Heat 131-106 behind Edwards' explosive night: 16-of-29 shooting, 9-of-17 from three, and 10 rebounds.
He joined Wilt Chamberlain and Michael Jordan as just the third player with multiple 40-point openers, while Ball added 21 points and six assists, with Edwards calling him a future best friend.
Fans buzzed over a traveling call on Ball, Edwards' trash talk with Chad Johnson, and early MVP talk for the star guard as Minnesota dominated rebounds and threes.

Lamelo on Lonzo calling him out for the travel that wasn't called: "He hatin. He hatin. See, I gotta give him a call right now, cause with the family, he know what you supposed to do. Even if I'm wrong, I'm right. That's how it go, I gotta teach that boy" 🤣🤣🤣 https://t.co/Gzkwz1xdc9
