Galp Discovers Oil Well That Could Supply Portugal For More Than 140 Years

Valuation of the oil company gives the Amorim family an extra 915 million in a single day.

A world-class discovery. Portugal's Galp has informed the market that it has discovered oil off the coast of Namibia. In two wells, one which began to be explored in January and the other in March (in a field called Mopane), the first tests show a commercial capacity of 10 billion barrels of crude oil.
