Al Hilal's Astronomical Offer For Lionel Messi Revealed

Anmar Al-Haili, president of Al Hilal, gave an interview to television station NIBC on Tuesday in which he revealed that Lionel Messi turned down an astronomical offer to move to the Saudi club in 2023.

"We contacted Lionel Messi at the end of his contract with PSG. We presented him with an offer of 1.4 billion euros, but the player turned it down because his family was looking to move to the United States of America," said the president of Al Hilal.

"It's surprising that the player was able to turn down such a big offer because of his family. He managed to convince his family, but he didn't hesitate to refuse. We respect that, because family is more important than money," said Anmar Al-Haili.

Lionel Messi, it should be remembered, ended up moving to the United States and the MLS, where he is currently playing his second season for Inter Miami.
