Apple unveiled on Monday all about the company's new Artificial Intelligence (AI) strategy, which is reflected in the 'Apple Intelligence' technology, a set of features that brings, for example, the ChatGPT chatbot to its devices.
The presentation took place at Apple's annual developers' conference (WWDC) in the United States, where new features were also unveiled for the iPhone, Apple Watch, iPad, Mac and Vision Pro systems.
ChatGPT integration should be used to respond to commands in the Siri voice assistant and to create texts or images. Even so, in order to guarantee privacy, the company assures that the assistant will ask for users' permission.
With the new technology, according to Tim Cook, Apple's CEO, the Siri voice assistant will be able to interact with messages, emails, calendar, as well as third-party applications. It will also be able to write emails and change the tone of voice according to the occasion.
The new feature will appear later this year for the new iOS 18, iPadOS 18 and macOS Sequoia and will use GPT-4o, the latest version of the OpenAI chatbot.
According to Apple, this update marks “the beginning of a new era” for the voice assistant.
It should be noted that Apple also presented IOS 18, the new operating system that should be available in September
