José Castelo Branco, who has been in the news over the last few months after being accused of domestic violence by his wife, Betty Grafstein, gave an interview to Júlia Pinheiro today, July 10th, where he clarified all the details of the legal process.
The socialite said that the coercive measures that had been applied to him, such as the electronic bracelet, have already been lifted, but that there is an intention to withdraw his passports. However, he reiterates that they were prevented from doing so since he is a "North American citizen".
After all, is there a divorce?
"As far as I know, there is no divorce": this is how José responded to the presenter when asked about his separation from Betty Grafstein.
"Betty to Guilherme, my son, said she didn't want any divorce, she said she was very hurt by me, that I had a girlfriend", he says, regretting that his partner believes what he says are lies.
Furthermore, José stated that the divorce, if it happens, will have to be in the United States, as that was where he lived. In this sense, the socialite guarantees that he is protected by the law since he has to present evidence that he attacked Betty, something that he says does not exist.
And are there complaints in the United States?
The answer to this question was equally negative. Castelo Branco guarantees that no complaint was filed against him in New York, just an attempt by his son, Roger, with whom he never got along.
"Roger always had a terrible relationship with his mother", he reveals, noting that Betty even filed a lawsuit against her son when he received part of the assets he inherited from Grafstein (ex-husband, who was not Roger's father).
"Roger's father, he was an aggressor...", he says.
Properties in your name
José Castelo Branco guarantees that he does not have any property in his name - on Betty's part - the only ones he had, inherited from his mother, he renounced in favor of his son, Guilherme.
He is currently living in the house of Marluce, Carlos Cruz's ex-wife, and also has the unconditional support of another friend.

José Castelo Branco stated that Guilherme, his son, was "very hurt" by this whole situation, but that "he is on your side".
He says that Guilherme even had a "man-to-man conversation" with Roger, when he found him in the hospital, after a visit to Betty.
"My son is by my side. Every week I go to Guilherme's house", he highlights.
