Canada is known for its hospitality and the kindness of its citizens, but the residents of Kelowna, British Columbia have taken that fame to a whole new level.
Some residents began to notice that their gnomes were disappearing... and then reappearing, restored.
This is the effort of a mysterious group that is voluntarily and anonymously making garden gnomes look good, reports local newspaper Kelowna Capital News.
They call themselves the 'Gnome Restoration Society' and there is no idea how many people will be involved.
To Kelowna Capital News, resident Kelly Blair said that when she realized that her beloved garden gnomes were missing at the end of June, she just assumed that it was just another entry on the list of items that had been stolen from outside her home. your home in the past.
Then, on July 3rd, someone knocked on his door. She was an elderly lady, who gave him an envelope addressed only to the 'Owner'.
Inside was an image of one of the gnomes, with the words 'Gnome Restoration Society' inscribed on the back.
The elderly woman refused to answer Blair's questions, only asking him to accompany her to her car. She explained that she was delivering said gnomes, and that she was not going to answer any questions because the group wishes to remain anonymous.
Once at the vehicle, Blair was amazed to see her collection of gnomes in the trunk, restored with great attention to detail.
"Thank you so much for this random act of kindness," she said, saying the detail in which the gnomes were restored is "incredible."
