Biden, Obama, Bill And Hillary Clinton To Support Kamala At Democratic Convention

The current President of the United States of America (USA), Joe Biden, two of his predecessors, Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, and former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton will support Democratic candidate Kamala Harris at the Democratic national convention.

The first details of the agenda for the meeting in Chicago from Monday to Thursday, released by the US media on Tuesday, indicate that there will be speeches by the current occupant of the White House, the two former presidents and Hillary Clinton, the former Secretary of State who was the Democratic candidate in 2016.

Biden and Hillary Clinton will speak on Monday, Obama on Tuesday and Bill Clinton on Wednesday, CBS News reports.

Harris' number two, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, is expected to formally accept the nomination on Wednesday, and Harris will close the convention on Thursday with her official inauguration speech.

On 2 August, the vice-president obtained the votes needed to mathematically become the Democratic Party's candidate for the 5 November elections, a threshold that must reach 1,976 delegates.

The ballot closed on the evening of the 5th and Kamala Harris ended up obtaining 99% of the votes of her party's 4,567 delegates, becoming the first African-American woman to run for president of the United States.

Kamala Harris is running against former Republican President Donald Trump (2017-2021), who was nominated at her party's convention held in Milwaukee (Wisconsin) from 15 to 18 July, at which Senator JD Vance's candidacy for vice-president was also made official.
