Ioan Pintaru. Who Is the Man Who Stabbed a Child "8 Times" in London?

The identity of the man who stabbed an eleven-year-old child in the centre of London on Monday, and who has been charged with attempted murder, is now known.

The suspect, identified as Ioan Pintaru, is 32 years old and of Romanian nationality. He has no fixed address.

In court, prosecutor David Burns explained that the child and his mother were tourists. It should be noted that it was initially thought that the woman had also been attacked, but the blood belonged to her daughter.

The man "approached the girl" and "stabbed her eight times in the body", said Burns. The child suffered injuries to her face, shoulder, wrist and neck.

The girl is still in hospital and will need plastic surgery.

The suspect has been remanded in custody and will appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court later on Tuesday.

It should be remembered that it was a shop security guard who stopped the attacker. He and his colleagues provided first aid to the victims before the police and emergency services arrived.
