Barcelona will kick off the new La Liga season next Saturday against Valencia at the Mestalla, but for now there are no guarantees that the new coach, Hans-Dieter Flick, will be able to use Dani Olmo.
This is because, according to reports on Monday by Spanish radio station Cadena SER, the management team led by Joan Laporta has still not managed to formalize the 26-year-old's registration, due to the financial difficulties he is facing.
At the root of this problem, adds the publication, is the alleged disagreement between the Catalans and the German company Libero over the payment of 100 million euros relating to the sale of 25 per cent of the share capital of Barça Studios.
The Spanish international, it should be remembered, returned to Camp Nou ten years after his 'farewell', in an operation that involved an initial investment of around 55 million euros, which could rise to 62 million euros if objectives are met.
