Brazilian influencer Suellen Carey surprised everyone in 2023 when she made an unusual move and married herself. Now, a year after the celebration in London, she has decided to divorce herself.
The woman explained that after going through a process of couple's therapy with herself, she realized that self-analysis and reflection are fundamental, but she also recognized that even a commitment to oneself can have its challenges.
‘I realized that, as important as self-knowledge is, it's also essential to know when to end a cycle. It was an enriching experience, but I felt I was ready to move on,’ commented Suellen.
On the decision to divorce, Suellen added: ‘I realised that the sologramic marriage was a process of healing and self-discovery, but I also understood that personal growth can take us in different directions. I've decided that now is the time to open my heart to new possibilities, including finding a partner.’
Suellen decided to go to a couple's therapist to discuss her relationship with herself. After ten therapy sessions, she decided to separate. Eduardo Omeltech, who accompanied her during the process, said:
‘Suellen went through an intense journey of self-knowledge and acceptance. The decision to ‘divorce’ herself and look for a partner is a reflection of her desire to connect more deeply with other people. Therapy helped her understand that self-love is the basis for any relationship, but that sharing life with someone can also be an enriching experience.’
