Child Forgotten Inside A Bus Manages To Save His Own Life

A five-year-old girl who fell asleep on a school bus managed to 'save herself' by her own means.

The bus driver picked up the girl near her home in Queens, New York, at 7 am on Thursday, with the intention of dropping her off at Al-Ihsan Academy.

The child fell asleep during the journey and, when he arrived at his destination, the driver did not check to see if any other children had been left in the vehicle and continued on his way to the doctor, where he had an appointment ten minutes later.

When the girl woke up and realized she was alone in the vehicle, she decided to kick one of the windows in order to get out of the bus. She then ran to the first person she saw and asked for help.

The child's father claims that his daughter was alone in the car for more than three hours, on a day when temperatures reached 28ºC. Relieved that nothing serious had happened, he nevertheless denounced the driver's negligence.

The driver claimed that it was "an incident". Despite this, the man was suspended from his duties.
