Rapper P. 'Diddy', 54, was arrested on Monday and charged with racketeering and sex trafficking.
The US justice system once again denied rapper 'Diddy' his release from prison on bail on Wednesday.
The music producer was also arrested on Monday and charged with racketeering, sex trafficking and prostitution-related crimes.
His legal team requested that the musician be released on bail, arguing that he did not fit the type of detainee who should be awaiting trial in prison.
The team claimed that conditions in New York prisons, in the United States, where the 54-year-old singer surrendered, had led to an increase in "homicides and suicides" and that the fact that he had voluntarily surrendered himself should be taken into account.
Federal prosecutors have responded, however, that Diddy, whose real name is Sean Combs, poses a danger to the community and may also flee.
"The defendant's behavior illustrates" that the defense team "is unable to control their client," according to a U.S. government memo filed with the court.
On Tuesday, the court said the singer's violent history was a factor in his denial, as was his easy access to weapons. The judge argued that Combs had a history of "prior substance abuse and the fact that the alleged violence appears to occur in conjunction with times when he is not necessarily in control of his actions due to that substance abuse" justified his arrest.
In the eyes of the court, Combs "poses a danger - to victims and others, through physical violence and behavior - and also a flight risk" and "must be detained."
