Police are reportedly focusing on the possibility that the Los Angeles fires were caused by human activity, Sky News reports.
Several sources from the authorities have reportedly told NBC News that their investigation has included several references to fireworks or people camping without permission in the area.
The investigation is into the Palisades fire, which broke out last Tuesday and has since killed 25 people and destroyed thousands of hectares.
Despite the hypotheses on the table, the same sources stress that no conclusion has been reached, and said that there are still other possibilities such as an accidental ignition related to equipment or even the possibility of arson.
Almost a week after the start of the Los Angeles fires, there are 25 confirmed deaths and 23 missing and the situation remains volatile, with the threat of worsening winds and three fires to be controlled.
