Luis Castro Leaves Al Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo and Otavio Without a Coach

Luís Castro is no longer the coach of Al Nassr, following a start to the season that fell short of expectations, culminating in a record of two wins, three draws and one defeat after six official matches.

This information was obtained by Desporto ao Minuto, and comes less than 24 hours after the Riyadh-based team was unable to go beyond a 1-1 draw in their trip to Iraq against Al-Shorta Bagdad, in a match counting towards the opening round of the Asian Champions League.

The team that includes the Portuguese internationals is thus left without a helmsman, just three days before the match corresponding to the fourth round of the top division of Saudi Arabian football, against Al-Ettifaq.

The Portuguese coach leaves the position just over a year after being hired, with a record of 44 wins, 12 draws and seven defeats in 63 matches. In the meantime, he won the Union of Arab Football Associations Cup.

[News updated at 3:25 p.m.]: Al Nassr has officially confirmed the termination of Luís Castro's contract, thanking him for "all his efforts" and wishing him "great success" in his future professional challenges.
