US Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate for November, Kamala Harris, said she felt "honored and grateful" to the artists who have supported her campaign, including Taylor Swift.
"I am very grateful to all the artists who understood the challenges of the election and supported my candidacy," Harris said in an interview with the radio program 'Chiquibaby Show', released this Tuesday, after being asked about the support she has received from several artists such as Eva Longoria, George Lopez and Taylor Swift.
"I feel very honored to have their support and I am grateful that they spoke out," added the US press.
It is worth remembering that Taylor Swift was one of the last well-known faces to publicly support Kamala Harris. The announcement, which caused a stir, came after the first presidential debate against former president Donald Trump.
"I will be voting for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 presidential election. […] I think she is a talented and strong-willed leader and I believe we can accomplish much more in this country if we are led by calm rather than chaos," wrote the American star, in a statement that she signed with "childless woman with cats", in reference to Republican vice-presidential candidate JD Vance's criticism of women who are not mothers.
Initially, Trump said he was not affected by one of the biggest names in the music world supporting his opponents, however, he ended up changing his tone, saying that he "hated" the artist.
