The platform has been suspended in the country since the end of August.
Suspended in Brazil since the end of August, the social network X (formerly Twitter) has become available again for some internet users in this territory. Despite the hope that the platform would become active again in the country, it seems that this is not what will happen and that the decision made by Minister Alexandre de Moraes of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) will remain in force.
When questioned by Poder 360, the STF stated that it was “verifying” the information, stating that it was “just an instability in the blocking of some networks”.
It is worth remembering that X was no longer available in Brazil after the company’s owner, Elon Musk, decided to close X’s offices in the country - which happened after pressure was applied to the STF for the platform to deal with misinformation on the platform. Given that Brazilian law requires all companies present in the country to be represented by a legal representative, Moraes was forced to close the social network.
Even though it was a ‘short-lived sun’ and it is highly likely that X will once again become inaccessible in Brazil, some Brazilians took the opportunity to celebrate the (temporary) return of the social network with hilarious posts.
You can see some of them below.
