Android Phones Will Have New Theft Protections

Google appears to be about to launch new features created specifically to prevent situations in which your Android phone is stolen.

As reported by GSMArena, one of them is called Theft Detection Lock and uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to detect, based on the device's movements, whether your device has been stolen.

Sudden movements followed by running, for example, can be associated with the theft of the phone and, in this case, the Android phone automatically blocks all access to applications and data stored on the device.

Another similar feature is Offline Device Lock, which locks the device if the thief keeps the phone disconnected for long periods of time. Finally, there is Remote Lock, which is already well known to Android phone users and allows them to lock the device remotely.

It is not yet clear which Android phones will receive these new options, and the launch date is still unclear.
