Bad News for Boeing. Satellite Disintegrated in Space

communications satellite built by Boeing has disintegrated in Earth's orbit, according to the website Jalopnik.

The US Space Force has already stated that the satellite in question - called Intelsat 33E - has disintegrated into around 20 different pieces, which are being tracked by the government agency. What's more, no ‘immediate threats’ have been detected as a result of these pieces of satellite.

The company responsible for developing the satellite, Intelsat, noted in an official statement that it all started with an "anomaly ’ on Saturday 19th. The ‘total loss’ of the satellite was confirmed on Monday 21st.

‘We are coordinating with the satellite's manufacturer, Boeing, and government agencies to analyze data and observations,’ said Intelsat according to the statement, which added that a board had been assembled to conduct a ‘comprehensive analysis of the cause of the anomaly’.

It's worth noting that Boeing hasn't been exactly happy in recent months when it comes to space missions, with problems with the Starliner capsule preventing astronauts from returning to Earth and being stranded on the International Space Station.
