This Saturday, Diego Simeone responded to Samu Omorodion, the FC Porto forward who regretted the way he was treated at Atlético de Madrid during the summer. In a press conference ahead of the clash with Leganés, the Argentine coach gave his version of the facts and even claimed that it was the Spanish striker who didn't want to stay at the club.
“We have to be fair and do what's best for the club and for him. He knows that on June 28 he sent a message in which he made it clear that he didn't want to be at Atlético de Madrid,” said Diego Simeone, quoted by AS.
It should be noted that the Spanish striker arrived at Civitas Metropolitano in 2023 from Granada for six million euros, but he didn't convince and, after a season on loan at Alavés, he left for FC Porto, who paid 15 million euros for 50% of his economic rights. A choice he doesn't regret.
