Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris will make her first campaign appearances with Barack and Michelle Obama, two popular party figures, at fundraising events in Georgia and Michigan.
While former President Barack Obama has previously appeared alongside the current vice president on the campaign trail, this will be the first time that former first lady Michelle Obama will be with the Democratic candidate.
Harris is scheduled to appear with Barack in Georgia on October 24 and Michelle in Michigan on October 26.
The former president recently campaigned for Harris in Pittsburgh and has appearances scheduled for Friday and Saturday in Arizona and Nevada, respectively, and next week in Wisconsin and Michigan.
Early voting will open statewide in Michigan on October 26, and Harris and the former first lady will encourage their supporters to vote as soon as possible.
In Georgia, where early voting began Tuesday, more than 310,000 people voted on the first day, a record number.
The Obamas endorsed Harris in July and spoke at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago in August.
Michelle Obama will also headline a rally in Atlanta, Georgia, on October 29, three days after joining Harris in Michigan.
The rally, which will feature celebrities and civic leaders, is being organized by When We All Vote, a nonpartisan civic engagement organization the former first lady founded in 2018 to reach people who are least likely to get involved in politics and elections.
Celebrities in this group include NBA players Stephen Curry and Chris Paul; recording artists Jennifer Lopez and Janelle Monáe; beauty influencer Bretman Rock; and actors Tom Hanks, Selena Gomez, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Kerry Washington.
The friendship between Harris and the Obamas dates back 20 years, when the former president and current vice president met during their campaign for the US Senate.
