Marie-Alix Canu-Bernard, Kylian Mbappé's lawyer, reacted this Tuesday to the revelations made by the Swedish press, which indicate that the Real Madrid forward is the target of an investigation for alleged rape and sexual assault in Sweden.
"There is talk of a complaint, but we don't even know against whom. A complaint does not prove the truth, it does not prove anything. I don't even know if the complaint is against him. At no time was he alone at night in Stockholm. At no time was he in a situation in which he could be exposed. Therefore, this completely rules out the possibility of having acted incorrectly. I can assure you of that", said the lawyer, in statements to TF1.
"He is particularly calm, but also very surprised by this media frenzy. In fact, he went to training, because he has nothing to criticize", concluded Marie-Alix Canu-Bernard, who also assured that Mbappé will file a complaint for slanderous accusation in the next few hours.
"Following media reports of a suspected rape in Stockholm, the prosecutor in charge of the case was able to confirm that the police have received a complaint of rape. An investigation is ongoing," the Swedish public prosecutor's office said in a statement on Tuesday.
