Protesters In Luxembourg Accuse EU Of Complicity With Israel

Around 40 people are protesting today against the presence of the European Union (EU) foreign ministers in Luxembourg, accusing the EU of being complacent with Israel's military invasions.

The protesters, who were waving Palestinian and Lebanese flags, were chanting "EU, shame on you" in front of the building where the government meeting is taking place.

The chants grew louder each time a minister's car approached.

The security perimeter set up by the police prevented the protesters from approaching the ministers' cars, but some people still tried to approach the vehicles while they were still on the road.

The protesters are demanding a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon and are accusing the European Union of being complacent with Israel's military operations, at a time when the army continues to bomb the Palestinian enclave incessantly and has invaded Lebanon.

On Sunday, the Israeli army entered the premises of a UN peacekeeping mission.

The United Nations has warned that attacks on peacekeepers constitute a war crime and a further violation of international law, but Israel, through Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has demanded that the mission be withdrawn from Lebanese territory.
