The Russian space agency, Roscosmos, announced this Sunday, the 13th, that it plans to launch a total of 34 rockets between 2027 and 2033 in order to make its new space station operational.
The project's general director, Vladimir Kozhevnikov, even stated that the first manned flight to the new space station will take place in 2028 aboard the rocket that will succeed the current Soyuz. Construction of the base module is scheduled to be completed in 2030, and two other modules will be joined in the following three years.
It is difficult to have an idea of what this new space station will look like, but as Space.com points out, the Russian Orbital Service Station (ROSS) was already presented to the public at an event in the summer of 2022 via a model. You can see the images that have already been unveiled above.
It is known that ROSS will be located at the same altitude as the International Space Station - 400km - and that it will be developed so that modules from other countries can be incorporated.
