Brazilian Producer Admits to Being Bisexual After Video Leak: “I Was Pulled Out Of The Closet”

Matheus Marinho, producer of the band ‘Os Africanos’, spoke out again this Friday (8) after the leak of a video in which he appears having sex with another man.

In a statement released on Instagram, the young man said he was single at the time the video was recorded. He also stated that he has no pregnant wife.

‘’Two other things I would like to highlight are the damage that the leak of an intimate video can cause in a person’s personal and professional life. I know that this subject will still be discussed for a while, but for me, who was exposed, the consequences go beyond ‘gossip’ and comments on the internet. I am a worker, I have family and friends and at this moment I felt deeply affected by everything that is happening’’, he pointed out.

Matheus also declared himself to be bisexual and regretted having ‘been pulled out of the closet’. Previously, he had said that he is neither gay nor bi.

‘’The video that has been circulating of my previous statement happened right after the video was leaked and I, in the heat of emotion and anguish, rushed and said a lot of things that don’t make sense’’, he continued.

‘’I think it’s important to clarify that I was being forced to take a stand on my sexuality, which is something intimate and sensitive, and that I honestly still feel uncomfortable talking about. At that moment, I made the decision to say that it’s not real in order to maintain an image that would protect me from further violence. It didn’t work out, from what we can see’’, he said.

‘’It’s not that it’s necessary to publicly assume any sexuality, but since I was taken out of the closet, I would like to state that I am a bisexual man, and I understand that the repercussions of the video are also loaded with homophobia. After all, if it were a woman with me, would this video really have repercussions?’’, he added.
