Britney Spears Stops Paying Child Support to Kevin Federline After 17 Years

After 17 years, singer Britney Spears will no longer have to pay child support to her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, and their two sons, Sean Preston Federline, 19, and Jayden James Federline, 18. The information comes from the TMZ website.

The singer's decision to pay alimony was agreed in 2007, when the two divorced. At the time, Britney committed to paying $20,000 a month, but the amount doubled in 2018, as Kevin was left with the star's first-born 100% of the time, despite having shared custody.

Once Sean turned 18 in 2023, the alimony went back to the original amount. Jayden, who reached the age of majority in September this year, will continue to be paid until he finishes high school.

But according to Page Six, the pop queen may still have to pay for her children for some time. “I would say that, according to the terms of the judgment, there will still be some responsibilities to contribute to certain expenses,” said Mark Vincent Kaplan, Kevin Federline's lawyer, ”The regular and recurring child support payments would end, [but] there could be other expenses that she has offered to pay in certain categories, even after they reach the age of majority.”
