Rupert Grint, well-known actor from 'Harry Potter', where he plays Ron Weasley, best friend of the film's protagonist, was convicted by British justice.
The artist will have to hand over R$2.16 million to the state due to taxes that were not paid.
According to the BBC, the actor should have paid this amount in 2019 as HMRC, the British entity responsible for paying taxes, began investigating the amount Rupert received from a company where he was the sole shareholder. This same company was taxed inappropriately and with irregular values.
During this process, the actor's lawyers argued that this money had been declared as a capital asset, a justification rejected by the judge.
