A month after his tragic death, a video of singer Liam Payne, former member of the band One Direction, being carried before he died, began to circulate in the international press. The video, recently released, shows the artist being helped by employees of a hotel in Buenos Aires, visibly unconscious, which caused great commotion, especially for his girlfriend, Kate Cassidy.
In the video, Liam appears with his head hanging back, being carried by his feet and legs. Witnesses reported that he caused a disturbance at the hotel reception for about an hour before suffering an alleged seizure. After this episode, the employees took him back to his room. About 13 minutes later, the singer fell from the third-floor balcony, resulting in his instant death.
Cause of death and investigations
The preliminary autopsy report confirmed that Liam Payne's death was caused by multiple trauma due to a fall of approximately 13 meters, with internal and external bleeding, as well as skull fractures and other serious injuries. The singer, who was 31 years old, died on October 16.
Local authorities are awaiting the results of toxicology tests that could confirm the presence of chemical substances in the artist's system. The investigation is under the responsibility of the Argentine Public Prosecutor's Office, which will release more details as the tests are completed.
Argentine media reports indicate that Liam Payne was disoriented and acting erratically moments before his death. He was described as "aggressive" in the hotel lobby and, according to witnesses, appeared to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Police were called and found a broken TV, scattered objects, drugs and signs of confusion in the room.
