What is micro-romance? This is set to be one of the main questions of the near future. At least when we're talking about trends related to emotional life. The result of a study shows that this will be what happens most in 2025. So if you're single, make sure you know what to expect in the new year.
A study carried out by relationship app Bumble found that micro-romance will be a trend by 2025. The study included 41,294 users of the app, all aged between 18 and 35 and from various countries. Speaking to Pouca Vergonha, psychologist and sexologist Ana Paula Nascimento explains that micro-romance can be defined by short, intense relationships that don't last very long.

“They are often characterized by a significant emotional or physical connection, but which does not necessarily go on to a lasting relationship. These romances can arise in contexts such as casual encounters, trips or even online interactions, in which the emotional intensity is high, but continuity and long-term commitment are not prioritized,” she says. What's more, despite being brief romances, they tend to be shared on social media by both men and women.
More assertive women in 2025
The study also predicted other trends for 2025. Women will become more assertive about what they want. There is one thing that doesn't seem to be changing, and that is the desire to find true love. 72% of respondents say they are looking for a serious relationship in 2025.
