Five Soldiers Killed in Helicopter Collision in Türkiye



At least five Turkish military personnel were killed today after two helicopters collided in mid-air, causing one of them to crash, local authorities said.


The second military helicopter managed to land safely, Turkish authorities said.


Regional governor Abdullah Erin told private television channel NTV that one person was injured and taken to hospital.


The accident occurred in the southwestern Turkish province of Isparta during regular training flights, the governor said.


A brigadier general in charge of the aviation school was among the victims, Erin said.


The cause of the accident is not yet known, but the regional governor said an investigation has been opened into the incident.
