Regarding females, Olivia continued to be the preferred name in 2023 and was the choice of the parents of 2,906 babies. Also rounding out the Top 10 are Amelia (2,663), Isla (2,337), Lily (2,290), Freya (2,086), Ava (2,050), Ivy (1,997), Florence (1,899), Willow (1,833) and Isabella (1,795). .


According to Sky News, Olivia, Amelia and Isla took the top three spots for female baby names for the second year in a row.




In 2023, new names entered the Top 100: Hazel, Lilah, Autumn, Nevaeh and Raya for girls and Jax, Enzo and Bodhi for boys.


There was also an increase in the names Margot and Cillian, compared to 2022, which, according to the ONS, is related to the release of the films 'Barbie' and 'Oppenheimer', starring Margot Robbie and Cillian Murphy, respectively.
